Vancouver, BC – September 11, 2023 – We are thrilled to announce the triumphant conclusion of the "Light Up Chinatown Festival," a dynamic community event that took place on September 11, 2023, in Vancouver. The festival, organized independently, brought together a dedicated group of volunteers who embraced a variety of roles to ensure its success.

Our diverse team of volunteers played integral roles, from conducting spontaneous street interviews, encouraging businesses and visitors to participate in surveys, to contributing to the setup and promotion of the Chinatown Story Museum. The valuable insights gathered from these activities will be consolidated into a comprehensive report. This report, along with the endorsement of the foundation, will be submitted to the event organizers and the 2023 North America Chinatown New Outlook Forum.

The primary goal of this initiative is to spotlight the voices of young individuals, offering an immersive community experience. We aim to present a united front, highlighting the unique perspectives and needs of our youth to both event organizers and the broader community. Through this, we hope to inspire increased participation in community-building efforts.

While the "Light Up Chinatown Festival" illuminated Vancouver's historic Chinatown, it also ignited a renewed sense of community engagement and advocacy among our youth. We eagerly anticipate sharing the compiled insights from this event and look forward to continued collaborative efforts for a more inclusive and vibrant community.
